Meet Rhiannon
Rhiannon Ford was born and raised here in Phoenix, Arizona. After earning her Bachelor's degree from Northern Arizona University, she moved to Tucson to begin her career as a teacher. While teaching in Tucson, she earned her Masters degree in Education from Arizona State University. In Tucson, while teaching at University High School, her school was award the 4th Best High School in the Nation by US News and World Report.
She moved back to Phoenix and continued a career in education as an Academic Interventionist, working with at-risk high school students and helping to increase the graduation rate. Today, she teaches in the Phoenix Union High School District and is a proud member of the Arizona Education Association. In addition to teaching, Rhiannon has always held extra roles of leadership on campuses and has sponsored numerous student activities such as Student Council, Model United Nations and has even coached Softball. Currently, Rhiannon sponsors the National Honor Society and runs a Teen Parent Support Group for students who are parents or who are experiencing pregnancy.
Rhiannon has a second grade son who attends an Osborn School. She is highly involved in her son's school as an active member of the PTO. She helps to fundraise for his school and to put on events for the community. In addition, she helps in his classroom when there is opportunity, lastly attending the Community Planting Day and helping students plant vegetables in their community gardens.
